FINAL SCORE READS -- HORNYTEAM 6:1 TEAM NGEE ANN

how the match went --
team ngee an kick started the match after impressing hornyteam with their disciplined warm-up routine. it didnt take long for hornyteam to take the lead though, as an intended pass from sirseng was directed into the net by one of the team ngee ann player under yuxian's pressure. having a one goal cushion in hand, hornyteam poured on to attack with zhiping especially causing menace down the left, while yuxian, sirseng, loy and weilin all came close to score. team ngee ann did manage to hold tight with their inspired keeper and stringent offside traps; in fact they almost equalised on one occasion when their striker broke free courtesy of hornyteam's defensive lapses, only for the striker to drag his shot wide.
hornyteam started the second half positively, and was duly rewarded when a zhiping's corner was headed on at the far post by songq for an unmarked ak to bundle home. then in quick succession, songq put the scoreline beyond doubt as he mercilessly punished team ngee ann's keeper after the later pumped a weak goal kick straight at him. team ngee ann's morale was severely dented, and hornyteam got another goal again when a throw from delwyn was flicked on by sirseng to which songq let fly a mighty half volley from the edge of the penalty box into the roof of the net.
growing in confidence, hornyteam began to stroke the ball around. after some nice triangle movement involving ak, ivan, loy and yuxian, a backheel by yuxian found ivan inside the penalty box whom after a bit of twist and turn was harshly brought down by team ngee ann's right back. gunning for his third goal, songq stood up confidently to take the penalty, though team ngee ann's keeper was equally up to task as he palmed the ball away, only for delwyn to slot in the rebound.
the hat trick did arrive for songq eventually. after some shimmies down the left flank, zhiping slipped a clever ball to loy in the middle and loy, despite through on goal, unselfishly squared it to songq who literally walked the ball into the net. hornyteam then took their feet off the pedal and team ngee ann finally got their chance to savage some pride after a confusion between max and kyle gifted the opponents an open goal. the domination was not to be reversed however, as hornyteam kept possession till the final whistle.
players rating --
kyle (6) : basically had nothing to do apart from taking occasional goal kicks. was partially at fault for team ngee ann's late goal, but its hard for keepers to maintain concentration when the opponents are hardly threathening.
max (6.5): attacking wise was his usual composed self with some neat passing and switch-plays. defensive wise was kinda sloppy today, as the long ball approach from team ngee ann gave him plenty of headaches (pun intended).
songq (9): played centre back in the first half and managed a clean sheet. switched to right forward in the second half and scored a hat trick. they dont call him hulk for nothing.
ak (8.5): outstanding at the back, he is the rock of hornyteam. got a goal from corner too, and im sure the extraction of his wisdom teeth did no harm to his game.
ivan (7.5): further enhanced his reputation as 'roberto carlos'. was constantly overlapping down the left and even managed to draw a penalty during one of his forrays.
loy (7): was a little sloppy in some parts of the game, otherwise he played fine with an assist under his belt.
weilin (7.5): another energetic performance, be it in attack (first half) or defence (second half). once again proved that he's an all rounder.
delwyn (7.5): hardworking and physical, delwyn was all over the place in today's game. got his fourth goal for hornyteam courtesy of songq ;) .
zhiping (8): displayed an array of tricks and gave team ngee ann's right back a torrid time, especially in the first half. initiated two of hornyteam's goal even though it wouldnt be reflected in statistics.
sirseng (8): showed no signs of rustiness despite his three weeks hiatus in the kangaroo land, sirseng show-cased some nice touches today and made two assists.
yuxian (7): had a rather quiet game today, but his backheel for ivan was quite inspiring.
verdict --
a game we should win and good job, we won. nice to see the passes coming in, now that our basic passing structure is there we can work on more complicated stuff like reverse pass or switch play.

the big match on sunday after hiatus of 2 months.. with many people ord n stayin at home to exercise.. fitness is certainly a big concern.. please pay more attetion to nutrition n begin carboloadin.. sufficient sleep is no doubt wat we need.. but sunday 3am barcelona game then 5am sevilla n real.. realli need lotsa disicpline..
