Here's to Weijia for being quite the Santa Claus yesterday. Weijia oozes with more sincerity, something we should show more of, to him. Wishing all Christians a happy merry christmas. As for the rest of us, it's just a lonely lonely christmas with no christmas tree, no stuffed turkey, no gift-exchange, no carolling.

line-up: wayne, sirseng, weilin, navin naidu, ivna, some noob centre mid, bryan, stonez, ian, kayun, songq
goals replay:
stonez cut in from the right n fed the ball to sir seng who somehow ran into an attacker position despite being the right back. master sir picked out songq with a delightful thru ball n songq, under pressure, out muscled his marker before firing into the far post from a relatively tight angle. 1-0 hornyteam.
kayun flicked a long ball into the penalty box and stonez who timed his run well seized on the chance to drill a calm shot into the bottom left corner. 2-0 hornyteam.
a corner from opponent was miscontrolled by wayne as he "layed a pass" for unmarked opponent striker marcus to score from close range. 2-1.
match ratings:
wayne (7) - kept a clean sheet for the first time in his hornyteam career. but his decision to play outfield in the 2nd halv backfired as his mistake led to a gay goal and was guilty of missing some sitters. then again he proved to be the hero of the day as the scar on his forehead would testify.
sirseng (7.5) - as reliable as usual. was out paced sometimes but generally covered the ground well. his assist for songq was really a moment of brilliance.
weilin (8) - confident display in the 1st halv even tho' centre back aint his primary position. converted to dm in the 2nd halv and was all over the pitch.
navin naidu (8) - dominant performance frm the former ac centre back. often played his way out of trouble, and had virtually won every header. definitely added a lot of composure to the team, tho' he was caught out of possession once, which was almost costly.
ivan lim (8) - was seldom beaten and linked up well with navin + ian down the left flank.
noob centre mid (6.5) - as mentioned he was quite noob, esp when in possession. but his aggression in the 1st halv did unsettle the opponents quite a lot. his departure in the 2nd halv left a huge gap in the hornyteam midfield and hornyteam was forced to play with a man less.
bryan (7) - covered a lot of ground and his work rate surprised everyone. even tho his frame was too slight for a centre mid his never say die attitude was outstanding. faded somehow n missed a one on one chance in the 2nd halv.
stonez (8) - after playing on the left flank for the past few hornyteam matches stonez reverted back on the right. still yet to reach his peak altho his performance did improve in contrast with the previous match as he played with more freedom. threathened with some mazy runs and created quite a few goal scoring opportunities for bryan, songq and wayne. got himself onto the scoresheet too, and incidentally it was his 5th goal for hornyteam in 9 matches.
ian (8) - classy performance from the ac left mid. put in a few decent crosses n linked up with ivan well. had a goal disallowed for some lame reasons, which in my opinion it should have stood.
kayun (7.5) - his physical prescence in the 1st half along with songq havok-ed the opponents. unfortunately both of them were too similar in style and werent able to really link up well. handed an assist for stonez and was unlucky to concede a goal in the 2nd half as he swapped position with wayne.
songq (7.5) - scored his 1st goal for hornyteam and was a constant threat with his physical presence but was guilty of missing some easy chances. in fact he could have got a hat trick, if not more.
verdict:
hornyteam played a very good first half, with structure and movements all. second half hornyteam played with one man less and was stretched a bit, but overall it was a comfortable win. passing football with patience and tactical discipline is what we are supposed to play, and i shall say we followed the plan reasonably well today.
personal performance:
bounced back frm my previous game. had quite a good 1st half as the team was flowing, with options coming frm sir seng, bryan, kayun, songq and weilin regularly. acted quite wen with some close controls n sudden change of pace, and i did carve out several decent opportunities tho' my crosses and first touch were still kinda inconsistent. somehow i can concentrate more on attack today as the defensive duties were mostly covered by the hardworking centre mids. and i scored my milestone 5th, lame.
