FINAL SCORE READS -- HORNYTEAM 8:0 SJSM
scorers -- hornyteam : sjsm own goal, richard (4), yuxian (2), sirseng
how the match went --
1. sjsm started the game with one man less due to their own miscommunication. however due to the 10 men more united theory hornyteam was unable to find e opening till the 20th minute. a corner frm richard was forced into e net by an sjsm defender under intense pressue frm zhiping and loy. 1-0.
2. the game was still rather scrappy as number 11 of sjsm dictated e tempo. the defense quartet of songq, ak, max and weilin stood firm though and sjsm was restricted inside their own half. then came a moment of briliance from loy. a perfect weighted through pass sent richard clear, and richard slotted the ball calmly. 2-0.
3. hornyteam grew in confidence. songq played a pass from defense to yuxian, and despite urging from teammates around him yuxian sent a cross into e box. the danger wasnt prominent until richard appeared out of nowhere ahead of the sjsm players and walked the ball into the net. 3-0 to hornyteam.
4. starting to get more composed, max played a ball out of trouble to zhiping. zhiping then played a through ball down the right wing to delwyn, who in turn cut in for richard outside e box. richard curled a superb left legged shot into e top corner, leaving the keeper with no chance. hat trick richard, 4-0 hornyteam till half time.
5. sirseng came in for songq for the 2nd half and hornyteam reshuffled. the rhythm wasnt lose though as hornyteam controlled the possession. the 5th goal was never in doubt and richard duly scored in spectacular fashion, running with the ball all the way from the centre line and finished ruthlessly. 5-0.
6. a weak goal kick from sjsm keeper was intercepted by zhiping and a sudden change of pace saw him bursting pass two defenders into the penalty box. his tight angle shot however was blocked by the onrushing keeper and the ball ricochet back to him and then to yuxian who had the simplest of job to tap in. 6-0.
7. some neat passing between weilin yuxian and richard saw richard playing the ball to yuxian down the edge of the left penalty box. even under immense marking yuxian managed to spot the goal keeper coming out and placed the ball to his blind side into the goal. 7-0 to hornyteam.
8. another corner from richard was headed on by weilin, to which sirseng expertly chested it down and sent a scorching volley in off the top right hand post into the net. wonder goal from sirseng and hornyteam finally ended the demolition with the scoreline reading 8-0.
players rating --
kyle (7): wasnt really tested, kept the first ever clean sheet in hornyteam's history.
max (7): was stretched a bit as sjsm wingers were rather skillful, but effectively closed down the space. grew in confidence in 2nd half and managed to play some classy passes.
weilin (7.5): energetic performance. running back and forth with purpose and won a fair share of tackles.
ak (8): solid. sjsm strikers hardly get a sniff on goal due to his presence.
songq (8): another towering performance. never fazed by the opponents, he even brought the ball out of the defense successfully on several occassions. hafta leave after one half tho' due to personal reasons.
loy (7.5): set up richard with a superb through ball for the second goal. took over songq as the centre back in the second half and hold his position well.
neng (7): used his body well to unsettle opponents. played as the lone striker in the second half and his high work rate created space for fellow team-mates.
zhiping (7): didnt have the best of his games, spent most of the first half hustling with sjsm's number 11 and his passing and awareness was slightly off today. seems to be more threathening on the flanks though as he tested the keeper on a few occasions after some bursting runs down the wings. did assist yuxian for the 6th goal by some luck.
yuxian (7.5): was rather nervous in the first half even though he crossed for richard to score the 3rd goal. improved a lot in the second half and his predatory instincts saw him netting in two goals.
delwyn (7): hardworking and effective, played his part to set up richard's second goal.
richard (10): man of the match today, his pace, strength and technique caused sjsm trouble for the whole game. 4 goals, 2 assists. what more is there to ask for?
sirseng (7.5): came in for songq in the 2nd half and played well in the centre mid role with several tidy passes. scored a wonder goal late in the match to cap off hornyteam's win.
verdict--
biggest win so far for hornyteam. was stretched a bit till we score our third goal, and subsequently it was all one sided. of course we have to be reminded that opponents played with only 10 players. however it was still worth celebrating as we finally registered our FIRST AND EVER CLEAN SHEET.
