counter attack frm alex selection, a misheader frm uneng was seized by alex, n he had the easiest task to slip e ball forward to e onrushing werder bremen no.10, who also had the easiest task to tap e ball past the helpless kayun. offside call frm uneng was frutile. 3-1.
verdict:
hornyteam's worst display thus far. the team lacked both discipline n commitment. a wake up call definitely as the team extended their losing streak to 4.

5-1 to HT(HornyTeam). Rain win trend continues.

So this is the famous hornyteam that I have heard so much about.
Play of the day:
Kenbang collects a pass from Loy in midfield. Kenbang spreads the play by playing a through ball to Stonez on the left. Stonez holds the ball up before releasing Ivna on an overlapping run. Ivna beats his marker and cuts into the left hand channel before squaring a low hard pass across the face of goal. Kyle couldn't get to it, but Songq was at the far post to direct the ball into GOAL! Best goal of the day involving many team players.
Other goals of the day:
1.Delwyn tackled the last man and punished the opponents by bursting the back of the net.
2.Loy curled the cornerkick into goal with his left foot, high towards the far post, out of the keeper's reach.
3.Songq did his own emulation of the opponent's only goal.
4.Stonez scored with a right footed freekick that went over the keeper's head right smack in the centre of goal.
Gay of the day:
The time we took to finally sit down and have lunch. All the route marches from bus-stops to bus-stops and from eateries to eateries.
Revelation of the day:
The ultra "wen" sprinkler in the middle of the rugby field that manages to wash away all the dirt and mud from our soccer apparel and gears.
Generally, we have our defence to thank for this victory. The 3 rotating centrebacks did well. So did Max. Only lapses were when the opponent winger beat Weilin and broke down our left flank, and when Ivna leaves his defending duties behind to foray down the left flank with his overlapping runs. Too bad we didn't manage to keep a clean sheet. Many many thanks to OC HT Cpt Ivan Lim for organising the HT manpower to come down for the friendly, and also to 2IC HT Lta Chong Zhiping for organising the friendly. Hope we can play more friendlies more frequently. Cheers!

how the match went--
hornyteam drew first blood when delwyn pounced on a zhiping through ball which green meadows failed to cut out. the match turned scrappy thereafter with rain pouring like jerry cans and mud pools forming all over the pitch. hornyteamers were forced to abandon their usual short passing play yet they remained solid with loy commanding in midfield and songq + ak towering in defence. in fact the lead was almost doubled if not for sirseng's agonising miss with an open goal at his mercy after songq's shot was deflected into his path.
inspired by hornyteam's wastefulness green meadows equalised right before half time. star player weiann out sprinted weilin down the right flank and sent a shot which went in thru kayun's leg. hornyteamers were understandably disappointed as they once again failed to keep a clean sheet. nevertheless they fought on with captain ivan making changes here and there.
indeed, the lead was restored soon after half time. sirseng made up for his horrendous miss by putting songq through, and the defender-turned-striker showed that he's equally adept up front by shrugging off his markers and calmly placing the ball. moments later, hornyteam scored again, this time courtesy of loy who curled a corner directly into the net, with some help of the far post. the goal proved to be the killer blow for green meadows as their morale seems severely affected and hornyteam attacked wave after wave with kayun, songq, ak all coming close.
the fourth goal proved to be the highlight of the match. receiving the ball down the middle, kenneth switched the ball to zhiping on the left. zhiping then hold on the ball, drawing two green meadows near him, before releasing ivan who overlapped down the wing. captain ivan, in gear five, evaded a desperate sliding challenge frm the opponent's centre back and slipped the ball accross the goal. kayun and songq both slid in and it was songq who got the last touch as hornyteamers celebrated this well worked goal.
hornyteamers then took their foot off the pedal as green meadows began to attack, albeit fruitless with ak and weilin standing tall. with a dependable backline to fall back on, hornyteam grew in confidence and began to string some passes accross their own quarter, durin which max showed his class via an outrageous crossfield ball that won applaud from everyone.
the fifth goal finally came as zhiping was fouled somewhere outside the penalty box after cutting pass two players. songq wanted to take the free kick but zhiping insisted he will fire, and after staring at the top right corner of the goal for like 15 seconds he finally took the shot, which even though the ball din exactly end up at where he was aiming it floated just enough to evade the full stretched keeper. green meadows then tried to savage some pride but its all too late as hornyteam clocked their biggest victory ever.
verdict --
it wasnt that convincing, but at least we won. a shame that the pitch condition din allow us to really play the type of passing that we've been playing so well on court. good to see the great defensive partnership btw songq and ak, two no-nonsense stoppers of two different hwachong soccer generation. loy has impressed in the holding role too while max is surprisingly at home in his new found right back position. what more, the debutant theory is once again proven as loy found the net in his first field match for hornyteam.

The usual pre-match pattern has lapsed into order. A routine newsflash from Wayne. A buzzing on my phone. A vibrating nuisance.

Three Reasons for Wayne's mysterious pre-match syndrome.
First Reason is a genuine case of injury.
Second Reason is the knowledge of inevitable injury at some point during match, probably inflicted by opponent's first shot(on target or otherwise). Might as well not let opponents know that Goalkeeper is as fragile as crepe paper. You don't have to be a clairvoyant to know that this will happen. Once bitten, Twice injured.
Third Reason is the knowledge that Himself is gonna screw up so bad in between sticks that missing point blank toe-poked shots by ten metres is better than letting the opponents in on the fact that He can't jump to save His life, let alone Dive.

What About?CCF's annual fundraising event "Hair for Hope (HfH)" will be held on 23 & 30 July 06, Suntec City, Fountain of Wealth. Once again, our volunteers will be sacrificing their hair to bring hope and support to children with cancer.
Through HfH, we aim:To tell every child and family, that they are not alone in their fight against cancer
To raise funds for CCF through monetary pledges, to aid in improving the quality of lives of children with cancer and their families
To raise public awareness of childhood cancer
Treatment of cancer, including chemotherapy, causes hair loss in patients, and thus represents his/her fight against cancer. Every shaven head represents an understanding by an individual of the ordeals that a child with cancer is subjected to.
